I have lived in North London for the past twenty years, I am married to a graphic designer and we have three children, two kittens and a goldfish. In 2003 I wrote and illustrated a little book, ‘Effusions of Fancy, consisting of annotated sketches from the life of Jane Austen in a style entirely new,’ which is a light hearted celebration of Jane Austen’s early life, seen through her sister’s eyes, in letters and paintings. I love to imagine scenes from Jane Austen’s novels and have a Jane Austen inspired greetings card range. Occasionally I am asked to produce a special painting for someone, birthday, anniversary and wedding presents are lovely jobs to do. I was lucky enough to be asked by Maggie Lane to illustrate a map for her wonderful book, Jane Austen in Lyme and have had my illustrations published in the Jane Austen Society Newsletter, Jane Austen’s Regency World magazine and on their Centre web site. I was recently interviewed about Jane Austen for LBC radio on behalf of the Jane Austen Society and though terrifying, I enjoyed it very much!

Lydia’s Story is my first novel. I always wanted to know how and why Lydia ended up with Mr. Wickham and as no-one else had written the book, I decided I must. Her story runs parallel to Pride and Prejudice to where Jane Austen left her in Newcastle, revisiting Hertfordshire and finishing in Bath. She is such a colourful character and I have had great fun thinking of all her adventures. I think everyone deserves a second chance and I couldn’t bear the thought that Lydia had to spend the rest of her days with Mr. Wickham.
I hope you will agree that it is only fair that she finds love in the end, even if from a most unexpected quarter.

ladies-with-feathers I am a member of the Jane Austen Society, JASNA, JAS, the Historical Novelist’s Society and the Southern Counties Costume Society. Although I have never yet been to Scotland, nor have any claims to a Scottish birthright, the fabulous Jane Austen Society Scottish branch has adopted me. I am indebted to them and grateful for their love and support!
Gail Parker of the Minnesota branch of JASNA in the USA stocks my books and cards and very kindly sells them on my behalf. Contact: Teawithelizabeth at aol dot com (say it out loud.)
